چکیده

The chloroform-soluble pigments of various pseudomonads have been found to be phenazine derivatives (Clemo & Daglish, 1950; Hillemann, 1938; Kogl & Postowsky, 1930; Kluyver, 1956; Haynes et al. 1956), whereas the constitutions of water-soluble fluorescent pigments of various pseudomonads are not well known. This has been mainly due to the failure of previous attempts to obtain the pigments in a highly purified or in a crystalline state (Elliott, 1958). By using an adsorbent different from those of previous workers and finally by electrophoresis over a cellulose bed, it has been possible to isolate in crystalline state a watersoluble yellow-green fluorescent pigment from a pseudomonad and this compound appears to be a pteridine derivative. The pteridine nature of such water-soluble fluorescent pigments was also suggested by Giral (1936). The present paper is concerned with the method of isolation and the chemical nature of the fluorescent pigment.

Isolation and Characterization of Melanin Producing Pseudomonas stutzeri Strain UIS2 in the Presence of l-tyrosine and Survey of Biological Properties of Its Melanin

Background: Melanin is a negative charge hydrophobic complex pigment. Melanin is produced naturally in bacteria to protect them against UV, free radicals and environmental stresses. Pigment production in bacteria has more advantages than other biosources due to its rapid growth, higher efficiency and easier extraction. The aim of this study was the isolation, biochemical and molecular identific...

Synthesis and Characterization of Nanocrystalline Magnetic Pigment via Coordinated Precursors

Nanocrystalline cobalt ferrite as a magnetic black pigment was synthesized via coordinated precursors with a significant decrease of the synthesis temperature using citric acid as a coordinating agent. The structure and properties of the cobalt ferrite powder were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), colorimetric analysis (L*a*b* color parameters), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and vibr...

EVALUATION OF SOLUTION COMBUSTION METHOD IN THE SYNTHESIS OF Fe-ZrSiO4 BASED CORAL PIGMENT

Abstract: Auto-ignited gel combustion process has been used for producing a red hematite-zircon based pigment. The combustible mixtures contained the metal nitrates and citric acid as oxidizers and fuel, respectively. Sodium silicate (water glass) was used as silica source for producing zircon phase. X-Ray Diffractometery, Electron Microscopy and Simultaneous Thermal Analysis were used for ...

Isolation, identification and characterization of lawsone from henna leaves powder with soxhlet technique

Lawsone a natural pigment present in the henna leaves has been used as a skin and hair dye since 1400 BC. The concentration of this natural compound in leaves varies from place to place depending upon many of the environmental factors and the highest quantity reported so far is about 1% of the dry mass. Heretofore, it has been reported that natural colored extracts and isolate from Henna leaves...

Synthesis and characterization of red pearlescent pigments based on ‎muscovite and zirconia-nanoencapsulated hematite

Applications of mica-based pearlescent pigments are related to plastics, cosmetics, automobiles coatings among others, but they seem to be not explored by the ceramic industry. In this work, intensively red and gold colored muscovite pigments covered with layer of nanoparticles containing iron and zirconium oxides were prepared by homogeneous precipitation. The final color was obtained after th...
